Jungle Fever

One of my good friends is having a baby boy soon, and her shower was last Friday. Unfortunately I was unable to attend, thanks to this awful cold that won't leave me alone. Anyhoo, I've been wanting to do some t-shirt designs with my digi-scrap supplies and finally got the chance. I used Mindy Teresawa's digital stickers found here to make these:
welcome to the jungle
new to the herd
see you later
mr tough guy

I then printed these onto iron-on transfer paper and voila:
tees 016
tees 019

I didn't realize until I'd done two or three of the shirts, but you really need to trim the iron-ons as close to the design as you can. I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but you'll end up with extra "stuff" around your design if you don't trim it close. So ya, don't make the same mistake I did! Anyway, this was fun & if you need a baby gift idea, here ya go! :)

More of the Good Stuff

Hunter and I returned from the Ruby's Inn Retreat last Monday, and we decided to take the scenic route home. We spent Sunday night in Henrieville, so instead of returning via I-15 or Hwy 89 we headed out on Hwy 12 thru Escalante, Boulder & Torrey. This drive is one of the most scenic drives in Utah, and bikers (the motorcycle kind) come from all over America to make this drive. We've done it a few times on the bike, but this was our first time in the car. Definitely less thrilling, although still gorgeous.

At one of our first stops, Hunter decided to bust out one of the RC buddies: the FJ Cruiser. This bad boy got just as much attention as the beautiful scenery; it was great! One chick even asked if she could take some photos, and proceeded to snap away. I felt like we were with a celebrity or Anyway, enjoy the pics. :)

Turns out, she just missed her mama. Once Messie joined her in the pool, she was fine.

The Perfect Day

DSC05075 v3
If Hunter could do it all over again, he would be a pilot. He loves airplanes, gliders, helicopters, space shuttles, UFOs; you name it...if it flies, it fascinates. He has spent countless hours at the point of the mountain flying his various gliders and radio control planes. In fact, we both got a kick out of Grandma Lifferth's description of Grandpa Lifferth, as quoted by Tanna in her book Love, Mom. She said, "My girl friend and I found Henry Lifferth to be attractive, but I could see that he was more interested in building model airplanes than he was in girls." I'm not kidding when I say this same statement could apply to Hunter; he loves those airplanes!

So when Nathan told us he'd be flying to Ruby's Inn and offered to take Hunter with him, my husband was overjoyed. He thought it was too good to be true, and wouldn't allow himself to believe it would actually happen. When the moment of truth finally arrived, it was like Christmas...he was so stinking excited! It was super cute.
We picked up Uncle Richard on the way and met the Rigby's at the airport. The plane was sleek and aerodynamic. Esther and I admired the craft, then said goodbye to our hubbies and headed south.

This is us, praying the beautiful plane delivers its precious cargo safely:
Esther and I left a good thirty minutes before the mavericks took off, and yet they arrived roughly two hours before we did! Can you imagine being able to fly whenever you wanted to go to southern Utah? My parents would get so sick of me! :)

Anyway, here are some of Hunter's sweet shots from the sky. What a view!
